Alice Lin
Alice is a B.A student majoring in Environmental Governance and a minor in Geographic Information Systems and Environmental Analysis. She has always had a passion for the environment and is keen on empowering the next generation of youth to create positive change. The global challenges today to achieve sustainability are complex and multifaceted. She believes that it important to advocate for the collaboration and engagement between our state, market and communities as we are all interdependent on one another. Through Net Impact Guelph, Alice hopes to inform and engage youth to take part in this movement to help transform the way the our industries operate.

I’m Aubrey Lang (left), a third year Economics Management student.  What brought me to Net Impact was the discrepancy that became apparent to me between the values of our current socioeconomic system and that of a sustainable society.   Today’s society is changing at an unprecedented rate both technologically and socially, and it is up to us on an individual level to facilitate this change as something fundamentally constructive and not destructive.   By putting on events and being present on campus, our Guelph Chapter of Net Impact seeks to encourage sustainability around campus and promote this constructive social change in such an accelerating society.

Ailsa Rollinson Hello, my name is Ailsa Rollinson and I am the director of events for the Net Impact Guelph chapter. I am passionate about the environment and trying to appreciate nature, I like to go on hikes at Guelph Lake or the Elora Gorge. Net Impact is a great organization and I am happy to be involved this year. Throughout the semester we will be throwing a variety events to raise awareness and try to get students to become more environmental and make better choices. By getting involved with small steps the university community can make a difference together. I’m really excited about this semester; it is going to be a lot of fun!

I am currently in my third year working toward a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Guelph. I am a marketing management major with a passion for sustainable commerce and sustainability in general. I spend my summers at a summer camp for girls where we focus on educating the girls on the importance of conserving our natural resources. I absolutely love tripping and the experience of living "off the grid." I practise sustainable leadership by sharing this passion first hand with younger girls and developing their appreciation of the environment! Net Impact gives me the opportunity to share the same values here on campus!
